Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: June 2026

By accessing the OpenRSVP website or downloading the software, you agree to these terms.

1. Description of Service

OpenRSVP provides a self-hostable event management platform. We provide the software (distributed via Docker) and documentation. We do not host the software for you. OpenRSVP is completely free to self-host.

2. Software Licensing (EULA)

Your use of the actual RSVP software is governed strictly by our End User License Agreement (EULA), which is included in the software's repository.

  • You are free to use, modify, and host the software for your own personal or business events.
  • You are strictly prohibited from reselling the software as a service (SaaS).

3. Self-Hosting Responsibility

Because you deploy and host the software on your own infrastructure (e.g., DigitalOcean, AWS):

  • You are solely responsible for securing your server, backing up your database, and maintaining uptime.
  • You own all of your event and guest data. We do not have access to your database.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of the software (including sending emails via your own SMTP provider) complies with local privacy and anti-spam laws (like GDPR or CAN-SPAM).

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenRSVP and its creators are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or catastrophic damages resulting from the use of our software or website. This includes lost event data, missed RSVPs, server downtime, or email delivery failures, as you are responsible for hosting and managing the infrastructure.

5. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
